we used to use brown bags and glass. then switched to plastic bags & plastics of all kind.
now there's a ban on plastic bags in stores across the usa, yet, there's no ban on selling other kinds of plastics like containers, bottles, straws, etc.
is the assumption that plastic bags are the most produced & consumed plastic product? or did somebody just say "hey, maybe we should start with plastic bags and see what happens."
Since big oil companies are behind our consumption of plastics, I am sure they had to collectively give permission for this ban to start. Looking at all the ways plastic is used, bags had to be the easiest and least financially lucrative to part ways with it.
